Though the monsoon had fully advanced at this time of the year, myself and a friend of mine, Ananth decided to chance our luck and travelled to Katni, Madhya Pradesh which was in the path of totality.
At the hotel where we stayed in Katni, there was a family of four who had come down from Pune in a 4-wheeler for the same reason. The previous evening we met the family and they told us that they would be going to Chinndwara and were kind enough to invite us along, which we gracefully accepted.
Once we reached Chinndwara, we decided to pull over somewhere near the highway where there was a lot of clearance. It was quite cloudy and we thought we might not be able to observe totality. But, just at that time, there was a lucky break in the clouds, as if they knew we were here! There was a loud cheer among us.... and Behold!
What we saw was really inexplicable! Somehow, nothing else mattered in this world; A sight that dwarfed almost every experience, happiness, joy, sadness and trouble I had encountered so far in my life! Here are some photos of that eclipse!
