Dandeli - Western Ghat Endemics & Others

Over the long weekend (Good Friday), I got an opportunity to visit Dandeli and GaneshGudi.
Dandeli is located in North Karnataka, Uttara Kannada district along the rapids of River Kali.

This region is the northern extension of the Western Ghats forests. Though it is a sanctuary for a variety of animals and birds, animals are seen less due to civilization. But, the population of a variety of birds makes up for this deficiency.

Over the four days I stayed in GaneshGudi, I was able to photograph quite avians. The place that I stayed is right in the jungle, off the main road towards Londa and we did not have to go far away to sight these birds. The camp staff had also put up birdbaths, which the birds visit frequently.

I have shared below some of the photos.
